Chris is the ‘principal’ of Soundsteps Music School. He began his professional music career performing in cabaret bands around the UK before moving on to working solo, playing piano mainly in London, but also abroad in Germany, Luxembourg & Norway to name a few. He secured a contract with Neptune music publishing company, composing music for artists. During this period Chris performed with his own band supporting well estatblished acts such as Shakatak and Modern Romance. In February 2003, Chris opened the first Soundsteps Centre in west London hoping to inspire school aged children to experience the enjoyment and fulfillment of learning a musical instrument. Many students have excelled and continue to excel their own musical expectations. In 2015, Chris returned to the recording studio, and completed the album "Borderin’ the Trainline".
Aaron has been involved in business from leaving school, having previously been Stock Controller at Tiffany and Co., and a Store Business Manager at Mcdonald’s, After joining Soundsteps in 2015 he has been running the school, helping the School to grow and maintain the high standards we expect in the our lessons. He is now currently a joint Director of the school. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his Family and friends.
Hi! My name is Karishma. I studied Music Technology at the University of Hertfordshire. Music has always been my passion. I have been playing the Piano since I was 5. I also play the Saxophone, Violin and Drums. I love to see the learning process in action. Music is an escape for me, my own little world I can drift of to. I hope to be able to spread the tranquillity and love for music that I feel onto others. In my spare time I love producing music, making my own songs, reading and travelling.
Originally from Italy, Isabella has a degree in classical piano. In 2006 she moved to London to study Ethnomusicology at SOAS , where she was able to pursue her interest in Middle Eastern music. In 2006 Isabella joined Soundsteps as a teacher, subsequently moving on to working in the office and, more recently, helping recruit and train new teachers, which she really enjoys.
After getting a Distinction for Grade 8 piano in Hong Kong, I pursued further studies in the U.K, graduating with an MA in Music.
As with cooking, I enjoy following a great recipe (curriculum) while tweaking certain flavours and ingredients so that each meal (lesson) is original, yet nutritious. I love music, plants and cats.
I am a musician from Riga, Latvia with over 10 years of studying experience in music (piano, music theory) and performing on on the stage. I have a big passion for music, which helps me get over all the difficulties and keep going. I am studying songwriting in British & Irish Institute of Modern Music. Besides of piano skills, I play the guitar, bongo drums, I compose music, write songs and also sing. Also, I speak fluently in 4 languages (English, Russian, Latvian, Armenian).
As an enthusiastic, versatile, professional teacher and musician, my experience consists of performing as a keyboard player, pianist, recorder player and singer and teaching budding musicians in their efforts to develop musicianship.
Graham has had a long and continuing career as a professional musician. Firstly as a live performer, having toured extensively with various bands, and also as a studio session musician and work in record production. Plus now, of course, as a teacher with Soundsteps. As well as the keyboard he plays guitar and bass guitar and sings. In his spare time, Graham enjoys the slightly less rock and roll pursuits of playing squash and doing the Independent cryptic crossword.
Since my childhood I knew one thing - that music will lead me all my life. Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything. Music is not what I do, it's who I am. I've studied music for 17 years (music school, conservatoire and university), I love active sports, reading and travelling.
Since studying at Sussex University and Trinity Laban I have been working as a freelance musician, performing and recording on keyboard, trombone and bass guitar. Currently with reggae band Samsara Collective, I have played with more than 20 bands and artists over the years and have had the privilege of supporting such legendary bands as Black Uhuru, Aswad and The Wurzels. In my spare time I write music for several projects and organise a community group that works on food growing and conservation.
Matteo Bisbano Memmo was born in Lanciano (Italy) in 1987. He started to play the piano (classical music) at the age of 7. With his first teacher, Maestro Massimo Berghella, Matteo had also the chance to study and perform with the Harpsichord. He graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Classical Piano from the "G. Braga" Conservatoire in Teramo and with a Master Degree in JazzPiano from the "L. D'Annunzio" in Pescara with distinction.
Matteo has performed as a pianist soloist, duo, trio and others jazz formations and took part of the "Piano piano per Sulmona" Festival in three editions (in 2015,2017 and 2018) with the "Jazz tale" duo with Alice Vedilei (voice) and with the Matteo Bisbano Trio.
From 2013 to2017 Matteo was the pianist of the Santino Spinelli's "Alexian Group" and performed with the Alexian Group in different places like Porto Torres,Rome,L'Aquila,Pisa,Pescara,Cagliari,Milan,Palermo. The Group played for some Tv channels like Tv2000,TeleMax,Rete4. In 2015 the Alexian Group performed in the City of the Vatican State before the Pope.
In his last collaboration with Alexian Group, Matteo played three times (2015,2016 and 2017's editions) in Riga for the "World Roma Music Festival".
Nina Kiva is currently in her fourth year of undergraduate studies at the Royal College of Music. She has gained a wide range of teaching experience, including chamber music coaching young musicians in Italy and leading outreach workshops to young children in schools. She regularly performs in venues across London as a soloist and chamber musician, and across Europe with the EUYO.
Eunice Tang was born and raised in Hong Kong. She is a pianist currently studying her master’s degree in Music Education in the Institute of Education, University College London. She obtained the LTCL Recital (Piano) diploma from Trinity College London in 2019. She is a music volunteer at Fulham Palace, performing regularly to create an immersive experience for visitors.
Eunice worked as piano accompanist for the Yuen Long Children Choir (2008-2017) whilst providing the interpretation service for the ABRSM Practical Examinations in Hong Kong and in Guangzhou, the southern region of China (2009-2019). She has been appointed Chinese Music Translator of the Petrucci Music Library (IMSLP) since 2019.
Eunice has been engaging in numerous projects and enjoying herself in different music genres. As a former keyboardist of the band Peri M, Eunice was invited to give a stage demonstration for the XW-P1 Synthesizer and was sponsored by Casio. She was one of the final judges and performance guests in the Casio Hong Kong Pop Music Giant Singing Competition (2015). She also worked as interpreter for the Trinity Rock & Pop Examinations (2016).
With 2 EPs publications, she and her team enjoyed overseas performances including the Spring Scream Music Festival in Kaohsiung, Taiwan (2014) and the V-Rox Russian Asian and Pacific Rim International Music Conference and Festival in Vladivostok, Russia (2013). Collaborated with Skyhigh Creative Partners, she and her team organised summer music workshops and concerts for teenagers in Tin Shui Wai, Hong Kong (2013). She also worked as piano accompanist in the Hong Kong-Shanghai-Taipei Children’s Singing Contest (2016-17) and was one of the adjudicators in the Hong Kong Children and Youth Piano Contest (2017).
Alessandro is a composer, music producer and pianist from Italy. He has been playing piano, singing and writing music since he was 10 years old. He has studied composition, counterpoint, orchestration, and advanced harmony and has written works for many different styles and ensembles, from symphonic orchestras to electronic music bands. Graduated at London College of Music in Music Composition and Performance (First Class Honours), he has Conservatoire level qualifications in Italy equivalent to Grade 8 (Piano) and Grade 8 (Theory). Alongside teaching piano, keyboard, composition and music production he is also pursuing the career of Film composer.
I was lucky to grow up in a very musical family, my mom and dad meeting in a music school and my mom becoming a music teacher herself. So music has always been surrounding me and playing a big part in my life - since I was 3 my mom started signing me up for singing competitions and including me in her own projects. Once I reached 8 I started taking classical piano lessons (which was one of the best things I have ever done for myself) and once I hit teenage years I thought myself to play acoustic guitar and perform around my home country Lithuania. I don't remember myself not doing music. At the moment I am working towards 'Singing Award' with Point Blank music school.
Hi I’m Janice Sequeira. At just 16 years old I attained Grade 6 for Electronic Keyboard from the Trinity College of London in Dubai. I won the Apex Awards in 2015 for the highest marks in the Middle East for Grade 4 practicals. Having performed at shows and festivals and having played the Organ for my Church Choir every week, my love for music constantly grows. Besides music I love reading, singing and dancing.
Digory is an accomplished pianist, conductor and singer, with a passion for inspiring young musicians. Digory has worked with companies such as Opera North, Leeds Youth Opera, Battersea Choral Society and Croydon Male Voice Choir. Digory has taught with Soundsteps since 2019 and loves seeing his students progress.
I began studying music at the age of 8, I started first with classical music achieving a diploma of solfeggio, harmony, history of music and bachelor in complementary Piano with the highest marks of the session at the conservatory of Music Arcangelo Corelli, Messina, Italy.
During my studies besides Classical Music I've been focusing my interest and enthusiasm on jazz music and composition, participating to a workshop of Classical music and interpretation at the Conservatory of Music Luigi Cherubini in Florence, also to a Jazz composition workshop at the Berklee School of Boston in Perugia and a Workshop at the Brass Group of Palermo (Jazz academy of Music).
After my studies until today I've been working as Classical and jazz Pianist and also as Private Teacher.
Since I was 20 years old until today, I’ve always been teaching musical theory, interpretation, harmony (classical and Jazz) composition and improvisation.
I am very passionate about every kind of music and I believe that is essential to have a wide range of interest in music in order to share with people.
